Explanation
This is a handy acronym to help you recognize the symptoms of a stroke, and act quickly. Each letter stands for a warning sign:
- Face - Face drooping on one side.
- Arms - Arm weakness; one arm may drift downward when both are raised.
- Speech - Speech difficulty; slurred or strange speech.
- Time - Time to call emergency services. Getting medical attention within the first few hours of symptoms makes a major difference to the outcome.
